Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy Descriptor

Naturopathic Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition and lifestyle medicine sciences in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows them to work with individuals to address nutritional imbalance and help support the body towards maintaining health.

Naturopathic Nutritional therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing. Naturopathic Nutritional Practitioners consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Other modalities such as Herbs, Homeopathy and Traditional Chinese Medicine support are also considered.

Practitioners never recommend nutritional therapy or any other complementary medicine as a replacement for medical advice and always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their medical professional. They frequently work alongside medical professionals and will communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the client’s care to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.

As a Nutritional Therapist (NT) I request that the Client notes the following:

  • The degree of benefit obtainable from Nutritional Therapy may vary between clients with similar health problems and following a similar Nutritional Therapy programme.
  • Nutritional advice will be tailored to support health conditions and/or health concerns identified and agreed between both parties.
  • Nutritional therapists are not permitted to diagnose, or claim to treat, medical conditions.
  • Nutritional advice is not a substitute for professional medical advice and/or treatment.
  • Your Nutritional Therapist may recommend food supplements and/or functional testing as part of your Nutritional Therapy programme and may receive a commission on these products or services.
  • Standards of professional practice in Nutritional Therapy are governed by the CNHC Code of Conduct.

On some occasions mini add-on experiences might be offered. Self Care Retreats aim to give clients the opportunity to experience the benefits of health enhancing solutions offered in the market, so they are better informed about which solutions work for them. The Self Care Retreats focus on nutrition and Alpine walks. Recipes offered range from being for general health to being fully personalised.

Guests can chose to book any type of retreat available on our website or booking platforms. Nutrition at PhiNutriomics Retreats

Meal plans vary per retreat.

Guests will receive three light meals a day to encourage detoxification and cleansing. Or they will be offered a different form of fasting. The meal plans will be designed by a nutritional therapist or experienced Natural Chef to provide the right balance of macro and micronutrients to support the guests, at the same time avoid the overindulgence of calorific foods. Our aim is to ensure guests eat well-balanced highly nutritious meals so that they go home feeling light and full of energy.

Room Sharing

If you have chosen to room share you will be an open minded, compassionate and considerate person and respect the space and character of the person you share with. We like to encourage new friendships at the retreat and sharing a room paves the way for great human connections on retreat and the special community feel and vibe. We regret we may be unable to change you to another room if you are not satisfied in your room so if this is something you are concerned about you are free to chose the single booking option on our website.

Use of Digital Electronic Devices and WIFI and Mobile Internet

PhiNutriomics Naturopathic Retreats aim to provide peace and tranquillity to all participants. They offer the perfect opportunity for restoring body, mind and soul. We invite all guests to use their retreat as an opportunity to abstain from use of electronic devices as much as possible. Guests who try a digital detox benefit from the lack of constant electro stimulation that has gripped modern society.  Anyone who is prepared to go ‘phone free’ for the length of the retreats experience an amazing sense of calmness and balance of the central nervous system.

As such, all guests are politely asked to be mindful if using their digital electronic devices in communal areas (kindles, laptops, ipads, phones and anything that beeps and disturbs other people). Please use digital devices away from other people as much as is possible in non-communal areas for example your bedroom. If sharing a bedroom we ask that you respect the boundaries of your fellow guest and keep the use of your digital devices to a minimum. No personal loud speaker devices should be used.

We will have one day a week, typically the last full day of the retreat where these restrictions are lifted to encourage people to share contacts, photos and connections with friends made. This is one day when the digital detox restrictions are waived and connections encouraged.

There is mobile data available at the Monchique quinta and our private residence in Olhão. There is also private wifi that will be available, so you will never feel completely isolated! Of course we understand that for some people it is very important to be able to talk to family or have important work to attend to so please speak to us regarding this and we will ensure this is possible without disturbing the other guests.

Health Form and Disclosures

Guests are required to complete and return the Health Form Waiver with the balance payment confirming they are fit and healthy to participate in the activities listed on the retreat booked. You must disclose any medical condition you may have including pregnancy and also provide confirmation of your doctor’s permission to take part in the retreat for any listed health condition.

All guests must assume that there is an element of risk in taking part in any retreat that involves exercise and that you must take full responsibility for this risk and seek your doctors permission to participate if you have any predetermined heath conditions.

All guests must inform PhuNutriomics of any physical or mental issues they may have that have an impact in the participation of a retreat. For example physical limitations, addictions, weight issues or mental health concerns. Our staff team do not have the necessary medical experience or qualifications to cater for guests on retreat with serious health issues and as such PhiNutriomics reserves the right to prevent a guest from participating on the retreat at any time if this information has been deemed to be inaccurate or withheld and a full refund provided.

The minimum age for participating on a retreat is 14 with a parent and the maximum age is 80, but this can be waived.
