About
About me
Having lived on two continents and experienced both war and peaceful times I learnt the value of non-judgemental listening. Every individual has their unique story which needs to be heard. For as Hippocrates was known to say:
“It’s more important to know what sort of person has a disease than to know what sort of disease a person has.”
My first degree was in Sociology, my Masters in Education, further developing my listening skills and fine tuning my observational skills. Together, both stood me in good stead as a teacher and lecturer in higher education. For over thirty years, I grew in being able to identify the distinct qualities in my students and facilitate their expression.
In 2018, after the loss of a dear friend, I embarked on a new journey. My training as a naturopathic nutritional therapist introduced me to the fascinating world of our body as an ecosystem, its means of communication and how it interacts with the environment.
Knowing the extent of how our diet and lifestlye determines who we are and our well being, gives us untold possibilities for achieving good health and the freedom to choose what works for us.
If it takes a village to raise a child, it takes a world to live a life!

About my work
My Mission
My aim is to support you on your health journey giving guidance on what works best for you. To empower you to achieve optimal healthspan through the gentlest, least invasive and most natural means possible.
My approach is completely personalised. The focus is on knowing you as an individual and how your body communicates its imbalances that translate as your dis-ease.
Together we learn to hear and heed your body’s cry for help to support it in its healing process. And to trust it knows what’s best for you.
Functional Testing
As a licensed nutritional therapist, I am trained to use functional testing to successfully get to the root causes of your problems in a scientific and pragmatic way. These tests aim to uncover why you are expressing symptoms rather than what those symptoms are. The focus is on removing the cause(s) of the symptoms rather than suppressing their expression.
This subtle shift in thinking allows for a much more personalised approach to healing.
Nutrigenomics Testing
I am also trained to use and interpret genomics testing. Nutrigenomics is a rapidly developing cutting-edge field in health management. The focus is not on genetic, but on epigenetic differences that affect and respond to how we interact with our environment with life changing results.
The Neanderthals would probably still be with us today if fire had not been discovered and they had not been so efficient at breaking down the toxic smoke in the body into a much more highly toxic product and so inefficient at getting rid of that product!
Genomics testing gives us the means to act in a preventative manner. Allowing us to cause change by taking action rather than reacting to change when it happens.
About your online consultation
After booking your first consultation you will receive a detailed health and nutrition questionnaire and a 3-day diet diary to complete.
Your initial consultation lasts 60 to 90 minutes and will be an opportunity to explore your symptoms and where you might need support.
Within 48 hours of the consultation, you will receive a plan with personalised nutrition and lifestyle recommendations developed with the aid of extensive evidence-based scientific research for nutrition.
Supplements will be recommended to support a deficiency or correct an imbalance if needed. Functional and genomics tests might be suggested to help me better understand your health landscape and suggest proactive measures.
A follow-up consultation takes place generally after four weeks to assess progress and make necessary changes or tweaks to the plan. It lasts for 30 to 45 minutes.
During the four weeks between consultations, you will be able to book short 15-minute support slots if you need assistance with your plan.
You may choose to have further follow-up consultations.
As a nutritional therapist, my work complements your health care provider’s and I shall notify a medical professional of any signs or symptoms I believe might need further investigation.
All consultations are online and use secure platforms like Zoom, Teams and Facetime. At your request, they can be recorded for you to review in the future.
